It is true that we have reached a level of technology that allows us to replace ourselves. This is only possible if there is someone as intelligent. Automation is developing at a massive scale in all industries. All kinds of companies, small or big are open to using Artificial Intelligence. But, is it something you should fear losing your job to? Not at the moment or for a long time.
Robots can’t take over jobs in an instant

The point here is that, as humans, we have a certain level of sophistication. We are sophisticated enough to create such machines and tools. All the automation in the world is not able to create an artificial consciousness. That is what separates us from the machines. It is not some dystopian era as depicted in Terminator movies.
If some or the other part (maybe even the entirety) of our jobs is automated, we still will have to oversee them. A machine cannot step in and overtake an entire process in a hierarchy of jobs. Whether someone is a factory worker or an AI developer, they are all replaceable by AI. No, it does not mean they are necessarily going to be replaced. Think of it this way: Someone is creating these automated tools and machines. Would that person lose his job for automating his job role? No. That person would be either looking to a promotion or something else. There is a level of hierarchy in jobs in our society. Senior managers overlook project managers who in turn overlook employees and so on. Say some part of the employees’ job is automated. Then, the employee would be responsible for overlooking the automation. There would be other areas created for the employee relieving him/her of some workload.
Artificial Intelligence is here to help

Even if the entire process was automated, people would have to overlook machines. Even if conscious machines would somehow be able to do some part of the job, it would not be one job sector only. At that level of intelligence, such a machine would replace every other role. But this stage might not come around for a very long time. We, as a species, will have to tread carefully on the path of conscious AI. That stage won’t be like the Terminator series, but would cause economic problems. If everyone has no job, the economy would be crippled. It all sounds very sci-fi, but we have a very long way to go to worry about that.

For the moment, we do not need to worry about Artificial Intelligence taking our jobs. It cannot happen and it will not happen. Even if it did, our society would have to reform in such a way that everyone would have to do something to support machines. We can only work on ourselves and improve and learn as much as possible. Artificial Intelligence is not any kind of immigrant we have to fear for seizing our jobs. It is here to support us in our workflow and to help us work on important things.
